The Spačva Forest

The Spačva Forest is among the largest full common oak forests in Europe. With its 40,000 ha, it is almost as big as the entire island of Krk! The Spačva Forest represents one fifth of all oak forests in Croatia. The forest is streaked with the Bosut, Spačva, Virovi (whirlpools), Lubanj and Studva rivers, and contains the unique Bošnjački and Otočki whirlpools. The Zagreb – Lipovac highways runs through the Spačva Forest.
